I like the idea of Valentine’s Day.

A day to celebrate love.

Love is the most powerful emotion, in my opinion. It makes us feel so happy that we feel like we are floating on air, it leaves us feeling like we can’t go on when it is taken away from us, it conquers hate, it inspires courage in us, and is so strong that, otherwise selfish people, would give their own life for someone they love in an instant.

And there are so many different ways of loving. Like the way that you romantically love your partner, and the unconditional love you have for your family. How you love your friends so protectively, and how you love your dog so much that you never want to leave them at home on their own.

Love comes in many forms, and the reasons some are afraid of it is because they know how powerful it is.

A big revelation I have had in the past year is how the most important thing in life is not nurturing my career or monetary achievements, but nurturing my relationships with the people I love.Β

What would life be without sharing it with loved ones?

So today, whether you are in a relationship or not, take the day to acknowledge and appreciate the love you have in your life, wherever it may be. And be thankful that you are lucky enough to know how it feels to love, and be loved in return.
