TRAVEL | Most ‘Instagramable’ Spots in Toronto.

Toronto is a great city! It has a healthy balance of cosmopolitan areas, to quirky backstreet cafes and thrift shops, to dazzling waterfronts, and cool views from the top of the city.

So I figured I would put together a little guide of some of the best spots I’ve found for awesome pictures – and it also so happens, that lots of these places are some of the best things you can do in Toronto!

So take this as a guide to Toronto too, if you will…

The Toronto Sign

Getting pictures with these signs should be an obligatory aspect of wherever you travel to.

What better way to tell your friends where you are, than by spelling it out for them?

Depending on the time of day you come across the sign in Nathan Phillips Square, the letters change colours and become brighter as the night rolls in. So you can get some pretty badass neon pictures on the dark nights…just don’t expect to be in the picture with them at that point.

At ‘The Game’

Canada is well known for its sports, so if you can, you have to go watch either a Baseball game or a Hockey game. You won’t be dissapointed!

Both are equally as fun, because the crowds and the atmosphere are what really make it (along with the nachos and pizza), but if you’re on a tighter budget then hit up the Baseball as you can get tickets as cheap as $15!

And remember, The Maple Leaves are for Ice Hockey, the Blue Jays are for Baseball. Don’t be an absolute tourist and mix them up…

Graffitti Alley

I’ve spoken about Graffitti Alley before, in one of my early Toronto blog posts, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that it would make its way into this post.

Graffitti Alley can be found in the side streets of Queen Street West.

Artists regularly come to spray paint their work on the walls of these streetsΒ – which apparently is not allowed, which kind of makes it feel all the more special because you can’t guarantee how long it will be there. And it makes for awesome pictures!

The alleys are absolutely coated in clever pieces of art, from small to downright massive, covering the entire sides of buildings. Grab a coffee and take a wander down these streets – it’s pretty cool stuff!

Obligatory CN Tower Photos

If you’re in Toronto then you need to get an obligatory CN Tower picture.

What’s the CN Tower, I hear you ask? Well it used to be the tallest tower in the world, (but now its been taken over by Dubai and China, so it’s now the 3rd tallest tower). But you can take an escalator up the tower and take in the amazing views of the entirety of Toronto, and probably beyond.

If you’re going to go up the tower, I recommend eating in the 360 restaurant, as you not only get a lovely 2-course/3-course meal, but your access to the glass floor and view point is included, so you don’t have to buy a separate ticket. And the restaurant rotates as you eat, so you get a full view of the city!

Head up the tower before sunset so that you can grab the last bits of daylight and then watch as the city lights up at night.

If you’re on a budget, even just getting an outside shot of the tower is impressive – especially at night.

FIKA Cafe

FIKA in Kensington Market has the most instagrammable coffee and food I’ve found in Toronto, so if you go, make sure you don’t waste that photo opportunity!

The cafe itself is also really cute, with a cool wall covered in book pages – I’m still yet to get a seat inside the cafe as I always go at peak times, so my ‘book-page-wall selfie dreams’ are yet to happen. If you manage to get one, please send them my way so that I can pine…

Check out my blog on FIKA if you want to know more.

The Christmas Market in the Distillery District doesn’t open until this weekend, but I’m pretty sure that would be a late addition to this post too! I’ll keep you updated…

If you know of any other great places to grab pictures in Toronto, then feel free to leave a comment below with suggestions. Hopefully I’d be able to try them out before I leave next weekend.

Happy exploring and snapping!
