I have 24 hours…

As I write this I am experiencing a few emotions; fear, nerves and an odd cold feeling…

Maybe this is because I have just been nominated to take part in the Ice Bucket Challenge that is filling my Facebook stream.

Now, it would be easy to just ignore it and keep my ice cubes for my wine, but I didn’t do the bare faced selfie nomination (I just donated), and I somehow (thankfully!) managed to avoid a Neknomination. So I feel like I should stop being Buzz Killington and just do one for once, although I may have possibly chosen the worst one possible!

Right now a picture of my bare face seems a lot more appealing than a video of me being doused in ice water…

As I haven’t actually watched one of these Ice nominations yet, I googled it to see what it’s about.Β

The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge is a trend, started by celebrities, that is storming social media. The idea is to tip a bucket of ice water over your head or forfeit by making a charitable donation to Macmillan Cancer Support or the ALS Association (otherwise known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease).

Now, I don’t quite understand how tipping ice water over your head is, one, safe (!), and two, how it has anything to do with either disease. But I said the same thing about the bare-faced selfies so maybe I should stop being so cynical, throw caution to the wind and…tip…a…bucket…of…ice…water…over…my…head…

I’m stupid.

Video to follow…
